Saving the Wild secures wild land through bee keeping & women empowerment

Celebrating 10 years Saving the Wild: 2014-2024

SOUTH AFRICA
Saving the Wild leads the crusade against corruption in a country where there is not a rhino crisis, but a corruption crisis. Their intel driven investigations have exposed massive corruption in both state-run Kruger, home to the highest population of rhino in the world, and state-run Hluhluwe-iMFolozi Park, home to the highest density of rhino in the world.

In October 2017 Saving the Wild exposed what is known as the Blood Rhino Blacklist – an alleged syndicate of corrupt justice officials who have for many years been taking bribes not just on rhino poaching but also child rape and other crimes against humanity. The Court President is currently facing possible life in prison with the criminal trial starting 15 August 2024.

KENYA
In Kenya, the greatest challenge is habitat loss, a vanishing landscape. To this end, Saving the Wild is securing wild land through Maasai women empowerment and financial independence through bee keeping.

As a powerful global advocacy tool, in 2021 Saving the Wild launched Kimana Tuskers. This award winning film is written and directed by Jamie Joseph, produced by Saving the Wild, and narrated by two-times Academy Award nominated actor, Djimon Hounsou. With post production by Park Road Post; the Academy Award winning facility behind the Lord of the Rings trilogies. Cinematography by BAFTA award winner Bertie Gregory.

There are fewer than 20 tuskers left on earth, where ivory still sweeps the ground. Filmed throughout the Greater Amboseli ecosystem in Kenya, Kimana Tuskers is a short film of epic proportions. Follow the famous tusker known as Craig, and the younger elephant bulls who entrust their lives to him as they navigate a vanishing landscape through the Kimana wildlife corridor. This is the passage of experience, a brotherhood, built on respect, trust and loyalty, and what awaits them is the promised land, so that one day their sons will rise to be kings…
